Flint, Michigan—Whether it’s waking up quietly in the early morning on the first morning or spending hours in the blinds testing patience and sharp eyes with hot coffee, the open day is approaching.

The regular gun deer season started on Monday, November 15. As hunters prepare to head to the woods, MLive-Flint magazine multimedia expert Jack May browsed the magazine archives to celebrate the long-standing tradition.
