The classic way to avoid dehydration, there are some new changes

This game is now over

The right water bottle provides easy access to water during the journey, allowing you to ride better and longer. From the classic squeeze design to the option of using insulation technology, there is always one suitable for all types of cycling.

BikeRadar’s expert team has done their best to provide you with our top cycling water bottle selection. Just put them in your bottle cage and you are ready to go.

Designs and functions vary, but when looking for the best water bottle for cycling, the following points need to be considered.

We saw the smallest increase in the temperature of the Elite bottle-it only rose by 6.6 degrees in four hours. In addition, it fits our cage very well, easy to handle and squeezed enough to provide good swallowing.

It can also keep warm (40 degrees) liquid temperature very well, so it is also convenient in winter.

This double-walled bottle uses reflective lining, which is a good additional safety feature, and is installed in all the cages we tried to use. It is also one of the cheapest and lightest bottles in the test.

We observed that the temperature of the cold water rose by 6.7 degrees in four hours, which complemented the other bottles here.

This aluminum foil-wrapped core bottle is directly mounted to your bike through the included mounting system, which means that a bottle cage is no longer needed. It is intuitive enough, but although it is easy to remove the bottle, replacing it requires some practice.

The heat preservation effect is very good-we have seen the temperature of cold water rise by 7.2 degrees in four hours, and can keep hot drinks for more than two hours.

This product provided by CamelBak can hold more liquid than any other test bottle, but this may be because it is slightly less effective than the other bottles, and the temperature increased by 8.8 degrees in four hours.

The Jet Valve cap is effective against leaks and easy to use, but squeezing the bottle does not provide the maximum amount of liquid. However, if you need to carry a lot of liquids with you on the go, this is a good choice.

The small pressure valve in the nozzle ensures that lighter squeezing will not release any liquid, but when you squeeze properly, it will provide a good burst and proper flow. This means you don't need to bite the valve (or pull it with your teeth) to let water flow through it, which makes this 500ml bottle easy to use while riding a bicycle.

The top has a twist lock function to prevent overflow. A wider neck opening will make it easier to add energy powder, especially when you are out riding. All the bottle cages we have tried can hold the bottles well. 5 pounds is also great value for money.

The heat preservation effect is very good and can keep your drink cool (or warm) for up to an hour. The twist lock on the nozzle means you can't squeeze it and flood your kit/car during transportation. The nozzle cap is useful in muddy riding, as long as it is removed/replaced while the bottle is in the cage, it will not cause any usage problems.

Not all cages can hold it firmly because the dents are not very deep and the position is a bit too high. In other words, we have never lost a bottle during the ride. We like the bite valve, flow rate, squeezability and decent 620 ml volume. Considering all its features, it is worth the money.

The textured top of this bottle is easy to grasp when grabbing it or reinserting it into the cage. The vertical ridge on the screw cap is easy to remove, and the wide neck is very suitable for adding energy powder.

The deep but relatively narrow neck indentation means that it is not very strong in certain brands of cages, but it works well with Fabric's matching Gripper cage (£14.99). We ran into the problem of cracked lids on several samples, when finished. The bottle also has a smaller 500 ml size.

The Osprey airbag has a volume of 500 ml and is compact. The more you drink, the smaller the volume, making it an excellent choice for fast and light riding. Due to the narrow opening, energy drinks need to be pre-mixed.

We found that in the smaller storage bag, the rigid top and nozzle are slightly protruding, and when the liquid sloshes inside, the flask can work outward. The flow through the bite valve is good because the flask is easy to squeeze.
