We tested 11 thermos flasks to see which ones can keep our drinks the hottest for the longest time and which ones are the most durable. The products we tested included the Hydro Flask, the favorite of Instagram users, the stylish Chilly's bottle, and three Thermos flasks.

Maybe you need a new flask to keep hot drinks warm during a cold locked walk, or for kids to use when they finally return to school? Or, you might be investing in one for a family camping trip this summer. No matter what plan you have, here is the information you need to know about thermos.

The best thermos: Thermos Flask, Hydro Flask, etc.

The only two glass-lined thermos bottles we tested broke very early in our durability test.

We dropped each flask from a height of 90 cm onto the hard road 10 times from different angles.

One flask shattered the first time it was dropped, and the other shattered, causing the inside to slip to the floor.

If you are buying a smaller thermos, say one liter or less, you may want to consider a thermos with a textured handle instead of a handle.

We found that the textured coating makes the flask equally easy to hold, but because of its smaller size, it is easier to store.

If your hand problems mean that the textured grip may not be right for you, check out a thermos with a retractable handle. This will provide you with almost the same streamlining.

Hydro Flask is a favorite of Instagram fans, but when we tested this flask, it did not impress people.

Although it was the most expensive flask we tested and boasted of its own patented TempShield technology, it ranked the worst in keeping coffee hot for a long time.

We found that button-operated lids are more effective than twisted and poured stoppers. They are easy to operate if you are not very dexterous or wear gloves in cold weather.

The cup fixed to the button acts as a second lid to prevent leakage.

Not all flasks are vacuum flasks. There are many cheaper beverage bottles and flasks. They are just liquid containers, but they don’t keep anything hot or cold at all times.

Vacuum insulation is unique because it uses double-layer insulation to prevent heat from entering and exiting the main body. Essentially, it is a flask in a flask.

The space between these walls creates a vacuum, which slows down heat transfer. The wall of the inner bottle is plated with silver to prevent heat transfer through radiation.
