Santa’s voyage on the Aulani makes winter on the water wonderful-Coronado Times

Although we do not have evergreen trees and snowflakes, we have weather to take Santa Claus to the south for a child-friendly voyage.

Saint Nick has now abandoned his usual method of sled transportation and is hosting children, parents and guests in San Diego with the family-owned and experienced Aolani catamaran sailing business.

If you are looking for a good way to spend your holidays, try Aolani. This is their second year on a private chartered catamaran for the annual "sailing with Santa Claus".

Customers arrive at the Sheraton Harbor Island Hotel dock opposite San Diego International Airport and board the 58-foot-long Sunchaser American. Santa Claus arrived in full costume, accompanied by cheerful, enthusiastic sounds and anticipation in the air, for a 60-minute lunch cruise around San Diego Bay.

The child is a little flustered, and the parents can't help but worry. However, overall, the atmosphere is festive and exciting, because the weather is very good, and despite the pandemic, we still go all out and enjoy life.

Children fill comfortable pit seats with blankets, and adults surround them on padded floor seats with backrests, or perches on nets or walkways.

Although no actual sailing is involved, we drove lightly around the bay-which pleased our parents-there are vast views and calm, cool water, breeze and sunshine all around us. When we pass the wake from time to time, we only rise and fall gently. No one will stumble. (They haven't let anyone swim.)

When Santa Claus boarded the deck, he found that he had purchased a chair with a flannel blanket for chatting and pictures, stories, interesting facts and answers to questions, as well as requests to mentally record important days. The city landscape and garlands around the railing are the background of his open-air meeting. The children clamored on his lap, or shyly avoided his question, because the costumed assistant would use paper travel mugs and Martinelli's marshmallows to distribute the perfect child-temperature hot cocoa for those willing distribution. Everyone will take pictures and shoot videos.

The spacious catamaran cabin has more photo opportunities, skits and songs with Santa Claus, comfortable seats, toilets, snacks and water, and adult drinks available for purchase.

My children and I really like goldfish, fruit snacks, candy canes and small water bottles; it makes life easier, has a good appetite, and there are fewer things to prepare for a relaxing tour.

Aolani also provides charter flights for corporate events, catering, parties, whale and dolphin watching, ashes spreading, military events, etc. You can also call to ask questions and learn more about safety precautions, the company’s inspiring history, and access to photos, videos, and letters of recommendation.

Book a trip on the Aolani Catamaran Sailing website (part of it goes to Toys for Tots) and you will receive instructions on where to go, where to stop, and soon you will gather on the huge wooden Sheraton beach chairs for preliminary photos. Of sails. This may be your latest tradition or the ideal way to host your San Diego holiday visitors.
