Brno, December 13th (BD)-Last year, the city of Brno created a series of #pripravbrno souvenirs and gifts, including wine from a local winemaker and coffee from a local roaster. This year, the series also added bread bags, fruit nets, glass bottles and stainless steel thermos bottles.
The added value of these gifts will be donated to the city company Brno Public Greening (VZMB). The money will be used for the care of special trees. The 60,000 CZK collected so far has been used for ash and horse chestnut trees in Spierbok, which have undergone soil grouting and microinjection. Tomáš Trnka of VZMB explains: “Soil grouting improves moisture conditions and aerates the soil around the trees.” “This is an application that uses a powerful compressor to combine the hydrogel with water. Horsetail microinjection helps To combat horseradish pests. The active substance is injected directly into the tree’s tissues through a valve through a special injection. Horse chestnuts have been treated like this for about two years, so there is no obvious infestation and premature leaf fall."

Adopt a mongoose or oak tree
The Brno iD platform provides opportunities for the public to do good. The new "Send Wish to Tree" application has been around since mid-November, allowing users to contribute to the care of a particular tree (minimum 100 CZK) or even adopt it (contribute 500 CZK or more). The project includes approximately 130 young trees and several giant giants from recently planted, all of which are included on the app’s map.
The Brno Zoo iD module provides similar options. Here, the minimum donation is also set at 100 CZK. This year, the zoo has received 834 wishes with a total value of 214,237 CZK.
The amount of dozens of crowns can be donated directly to animal food. For example, a pear from a mongoose will cost 20 krona, and for 60 krona, you can think of a bear as a mackerel. As they say, the pennies add up; nearly 500,000 crowns have been donated to the zoo this year.
Although you do not need a Brno iD account to purchase wishes or virtual feeding, you do need it to adopt or sponsor animals at the Brno Zoo. The adoption price starts at 500 CZK and you can become the foster parent of a turtle, budgerigar or piranha. You can also contribute to raising "more expensive" animals-the most expensive is to adopt a Congolese lion, which costs 60,000 CZK. The minimum amount is set to 500 CZK. In these cases, when it does not include the entire adoption, the donor is listed as a "breeding contributor". Thanks to adoption, the zoo has received 4,160,376 CZK this year!
